Yesterday, we found quite the pineapple explosion in the confectionery case in one spot in Disney Springs.

But, today it’s time for us to taste another new flavor — cotton candy! No, we’re not trying a new bag of cotton candy (although we have in the past). This time we’re trying a brand new cotton candy cupcake!
We spotted this cotton candy cupcake yesterday at Candy Cauldron in Disney Springs and today we found it again at the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom. And while we grabbed the treat to taste it, we also couldn’t help but have a little matching pink treat, pink Castle photoshoot. So cute!

The cupcake has a light cotton candy flavor in the cake portion with a regular (non-cotton candy flavored) buttercream frosting, topped with Minnie ears and a bow, as well as colorful sprinkles. This is similar to the pineapple cupcake that had a pineapple flavor in the cake with regular buttercream frosting on top.

Cotton Candy Cupcake
Our reporter who tried this treat today is not a fan of cotton candy, so this cupcake really wasn’t their favorite. On top of not being a fan of the cotton candy flavor, they also found the treat to be too sweet.

Cotton Candy Cupcake
Overall, we think this cupcake is something that would probably be very popular with kids or adults who love sweet treats and are fans of cotton candy. You can try it yourself for $5.19. We’re excited that the Disney confectionery treats are expanding beyond some of their more usual flavors like chocolate and vanilla and taking us on some new culinary adventures. What flavor will they tackle next? We’re not sure, but we can’t wait to find out.
