This is the day we celebrate the man who dared to dream. And although there are ways to celebrate in the parks (like with this special pin), you can also celebrate Walt’s birthday virtually this year! Disney’s also releasing a new Walt Funko today!
Although most people are well aware that Walt Disney grew up in a small town in Missouri, many might not know that he was actually born in Chicago! And the Walt Disney Birthplace Restoration project there is inviting people from all over the world to join them in celebrating Walt’s birthday today!

The house where Walt was born is being restored and turned into a museum! And during today’s event, you can get a virtual tour inside the home and learn more about the Disney family’s time in Chicago. Many surprise guests are also expected to turn up (maybe even a certain mouse?).

Registration is $10, which can also be credited towards a collectible t-shirt or a dedicated paver stone at the museum. There’s also a VIP reception package for $75 that includes a chance to chat with Imagineer Tony Baxter, who oversaw the construction of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, and more. This package also includes a VIP reception, the main event, and a special t-shirt. The event kicks off at 3PM PT.
