PICS! NEW High-Tech Designer Mickey Ears Have ARRIVED in Disney World!

Earlier this year we got a first look at the newest pair of Designer Mickey Ears by Bret Iwan (the VOICE of Mickey!). Production delays pushed these back from their summer release, but they’re finally here TODAY and they didn’t come alone!

We found these ears at The Art of Disney in Disney Springs and we were so excited to get an up-close look at them.

Let’s start with the packaging, the ears come in this awesome Designer Ears case, so you can keep them safe as they travel with you on all of your adventures.

The design of the ears themselves is based on Iwan’s voiceover work so Mickey’s ears are SPEAKERS. You’ll also spot a little “On Air” sign right in the middle of the hat. And yes, you can bet that it lights up!

But the MOST exciting thing about these ears is that they do actually play SOUND. When you press a button on them, you’ll hear Mickey say his signature phrase — “Oh boy!”

Speaking of Mickey, the voice of Mickey himself (and the designer of these ears) — Bret Iwan — was at Disney Springs today for the launch of these new ears!

He had on his very own Mickey mask and was talking to guests (from a safe social distance) at The Art of Disney. It was so awesome to see him there!

Bret Iwan was only set to be in Disney Springs until 12PM ET today, but it was still a nice treat to see him and the ears at this spot.

When we were there, we were told that discounts could be used on this special item. At the time, the Annual Pass discount was 20%. So, that’s a discount you’ll definitely want to take advantage of.

The ears are also set to be available in Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney today. If you want to buy these ears from home, Bret Iwan himself shared via Instagram that the ears are scheduled to be released online at shopDisney today at 12PM PST/3PM EST. We expect they’ll sell out REALLY quickly when they do become available online, so you’ll definitely want to be on the site and ready to buy them as soon as they are released.
