In case you haven’t noticed, we’re been spending more than a little time lately at The Polite Pig in Disney Springs.
And can you blame us? After all, they’ve been serving up all sorts of new sips, like a Root Beer Bourbon Cream Float and a Frozen Coffee Bourbon Cream. And now we’re back to try a few new menu items, including the Bourbon Blueberry Smash!
This Bourbon Blueberry Smash is made with Bourbon and blueberry purée, garnished with a lime. We LOVED how the bourbon and blueberry paired together. You could taste the alcohol, but it wasn’t overpowering.
The blueberry purée was smooth, fresh, and tasty. This is a lot like a smoothie, although a little thinner, making us think it could have used a little more blended ice. It’s a great fruity drink, though, especially for $11.
We also noticed that there was a Chef’s Special on the menu, and of course, we had to try it! It was a smoked Herb Pork Tenderloin, pumpkin purée, grilled heirloom peppers and asparagus with maple soy cream. Don’t mind if we do!
This was WAY nicer than we would expect from a quick-service place, and it was also AMAZING. The entire meal worked really well together! The asparagus was cooked very well, but we did feel it needed more flavor, along with the peppers and pumpkin purée — it might have worked better if all those ingredients had a smoky flavor like the meat.
However, the meat was moist and seasoned well. The combination of the bourbon sauce and pumpkin purée just somehow worked perfectly with the pork, too.
The Chef’s Special is $20, and if you’re looking for a fast high-quality meal, then you should check it out! You can check out this restaurant over in Disney Springs. For now, we ever-so-politely say “Thank you very much,” from The Polite Pig!
