A few months ago, we shared that the Luna Park Pool and the Keister Coaster (a.k.a. the scariest slide in Disney World) over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn would be getting a refurb.
We’ve been keeping an eye on the construction at this location and even heard from a Cast Member that our clown buddy has made his way to the big top in the sky and isn’t expected to return! We still haven’t been able to get a look at what’s going on behind the construction walls here to see what new look this slide will be rocking once it reopens, and it looks like we may not get that big reveal for a little bit longer.
Previously, Disney had announced that the waterslide would be unavailable from October 5th through October 30th, though those dates were subject to change, and that work in the pool area would continue through November.
Now, however, it looks like that construction period has been extended. The BoardWalk Inn website now notes that Disney expects the waterslide to be available again before the end of 2020, though that date is subject to change. Also, work in the pool area has been extended to last through the end of the year.
Despite this refurbishment work, Luna Park Pool, along with 2 leisure pools at the hotel, will remain open, so don’t worry, you can still enjoy a nice afternoon in the pool after a hot day in the parks. But, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see what new look the slide will be getting.
Will we get a lit-up BoardWalk style sign as the new centerpiece? Or perhaps another (even scarier!) clown has come to take our old buddy’s place? What if it’s not just one clown anymore but a whole clown car full of them? We’re not sure, but we’ll definitely be passing by this spot again in the future to see what kind of updates we can spot! Stay tuned for more updates!
The refurbishments scheduled for the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island have also been extended. Click here to read all about it!
