PHOTO: Gideon’s Bakehouse Shares Another Sneak Peek At Their Upcoming Disney World Shop

We are so ready for Gideon’s Bakehouse to open at Disney Springs because we seriously need some of those extraordinary cookies in our lives!

But we’re also excited to finally get a look at the shop once it opens, especially now that we know part of its mysterious backstory!

The cookie shop is reportedly a former Booksellers Shop called “Lindwurm Bookseller, Curious Books & Antiquities!” According to Gideon’s, demolition during the shop’s new construction uncovered a small gap in a brick wall. There, workers found a vintage ledger and an old daguerreotype of the shop’s former owner, Jonathan Lindwurm.

Gideon’s shared this photo today and it sort of gives us an idea of what the store’s vibe will be. The atmosphere indicates something mystical, with details that hint at what the shop was before it became cookie heaven. This is not your average bakery!

We’re digging the mystical books and journals, along with the potions bottles and props. We can’t wait to get a more detailed look when the Disney Springs shop finally opens!

But we’re also ALL about those cookies, so much so that we recently stood in line at Gideon’s Orlando location to help the shop test out a new virtual queue system. WORTH IT.
