VIDEO! Watch as Imagineers Make a MAJOR Milestone on Disney World’s Upcoming TRON Ride!

Pretty much every time we visit Magic Kingdom we spend a few minutes staring longingly at the TRON building.

We just want to be in The Grid! TRON Lightcycle Run is a coaster that has been under construction in Magic Kingdom for several months now. Just yesterday, Imagineer Zach Riddley shared pictures of the canopy getting installed for TRON and now we can watch a VIDEO of this major milestone!

This piece of the canopy is the first of almost 40 pieces that will “create a dramatic ‘curved wave’ canopy, known as the Upload Conduit.” Um…NEAT! No wonder it already looks so cool going in! The structure will apparently be massive and will serve as the “digital bridge” for your transition to The Grid.

Imagineers have mentioned that the construction of the canopy pieces required an intricate process of alignment, welding, grinding, painting, and electrical work — all BEFORE the installation that you just watched. The lights in the canopy will be visible from on and off the attraction. We can’t wait to see the finished product!

This coaster is set to be complete in time for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021, so we’re keeping a close eye on the progress. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
