The live-action remake of Mulan is set to release on Disney+ on September 4th.

Due to the global health crisis, Disney made the decision to offer “Premiere Access” of Mulan on Disney+ in lieu of showing it in movie theaters. The movie will be available to watch for $29.99 via the streaming service. Now, Disney just released an exciting new featurette that has spurred excitement for the film’s premiere!

The small teaser features filmmaker Niki Caro and her thoughts behind the story’s history. She states, “This Mulan story is as relevant and resonant as it was when it was first written over 1500 years ago.” She notes that Yifei Liu was the perfect choice for the character Mulan. Liu is an accomplished Martial Artist, can yield a sword, and ride horses. She will get to show off her fierce skills throughout the action-packed movie.

The storyline is fairly similar to the animated movie but will take a more realistic approach. The description of the featurette claims that Niki Caro “…brings the epic tale of China’s legendary warrior to life in Disney’s Mulan, in which a fearless young woman risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known.” We’re only 10 days away from Mulan being released on Disney+!
