Another merchandise location has reopened in Animal Kingdom!

Even though all four of the Disney World parks have been open for a few weeks now, there are still several shopping and dining locations within the parks that remain closed. Recently, Island Mercantile reopened in Animal Kingdom. Let’s step inside this reopened Animal Kingdom merchandise spot!
We were strolling through Animal Kingdom today when we noticed the doors to Island Mercantile were OPEN. This popular merchandise location is back in the business of getting guests all the best Animal Kingdom souvenirs.

Of course, the shop has plenty of health measures just like other locations around Walt Disney World. For one, we noted hand sanitizer dispensers near the doors.

There are physical distancing stickers as well, mainly placed near registers for guests to line up. It’s a pretty spacious store so it looks like crowds will be manageable inside as long as limited capacity remains in the parks.

It was nice to see the shelves stocked with some of our favorite Animal Kingdom merchandise once more! As that Spirit Jersey says, “Hakuna Matata!”

As we mentioned, the lines are carefully distanced as you head toward the registers to make sure that guests remain at least six feet apart.

The different checkout stations had numbered the registers too so that guests know where to stand for their safety and the safety of Cast Members.
