Although we’ve have watched the Disney Cruise Line’s “Beauty and the Beast” musical, Disneyland’s Magic Happens Parade, and the Illuminations Fireworks in Disneyland Paris, we are SO excited to share that the Disney on Broadway stream has been rescheduled! Awww yeaaah!!

Although Disney on Broadway had originally planned to stream its previously filmed 25th anniversary concert, the event was cancelled when the American Federation of Musicians opposed participation with the recent union furloughs.

However, the American Federation of Musicians has come to an agreement with Disney so the benefit concert has been put back on the calendar! Celebrating 25 Magical Years of Disney on Broadway will be streaming on April 17th at 7 PM on the Broadway Cares website, YouTube Channel, and Facebook page. The event will benefit the Broadway Cares’ COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund to raise money for the performing arts community. Recently, Broadway theaters have gone dark with plans to hopefully open sometime in June. However, this has impacted numerous actors, musicians, crew members, and more involved in theatre.

Throughout the stream, Broadway producers will be matching each new donation to the Broadway Cares’ COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund (and have even given viewers the challenge to raise $1 million so they can match it!). Ryan McCartan, who plays Hans in Frozen on Broadway, will be hosting the stream from home as he interviews different Disney on Broadway stars virtually.
