We’re eating and drinking our way around the 2020 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival!
Now through June 1, dine around World Showcase from an impressive variety of Outdoor Kitchens, feast your eyes on the gorgeous topiaries throughout the park, and get your groove on at the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
Our favorite part is (you guessed it) ALL THE FOOD! We’re so happy to welcome back one of our favorite booths, Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market!
FOOD
We’re SO relieved because they kept ALL of our favorite food items this year!
For a quintessential German snack, the Potato Pancakes with house-made apple sauce is a delicious option that also happens to be plant-based! The potato pancake was SUPER creamy despite not having butter in it! If you’re a fan of applesauce, you may not be weirded out by the consistency. If applesauce isn’t your thing, this probably isn’t the eat for ya.
There was a nice sweet and salty combo thanks to the applesauce, though. And overall we really enjoyed these little potato pancakes. You can try it for yourself for $4.50.
If you prefer something a little meatier, there’s also the Potato Pancakes with caramelized ham, onions, and herb sour cream for $4.75. This is also better texture-wise. The potato pancakes don’t get all soggy since there isn’t apple sauce on top.
The holy grail of cheesy goodness is back! The toasted pretzel bread with blacked forest ham and melted gruyere cheese is here to make all your carby dreams come true. We’re ready to dive into this cheesy goodness again for $5.50.
For a sweet treat, the Warm Cheese Strudel with mixed berries is available once again for $4.50. We won’t say no to more cheese!
BEVERAGES
This year we have the Apfelschaumwein, a sparkling wine with apple liqueur. You need to really like apples for this one, so it’s not for everybody. It tasted like boozy apple juice to us. You can see what you think of it for $10.00.
A booth favorite, the Stiegl Brewery Radler Zitrone returns along with two new options, M.I.A. Brewing Hugo and Bitburger Premium Pils. They are available individually or as part of a beer flight.
Doing the flight is a good way to sample all the different beers, but it’s not mind-blowing. German beer is consistently good for us!
Each beer is $4.50 separately or you can tackle the flight for $9.50.
This outdoor kitchen continues to be a highlight of the festival! Prost, my friends!
