REVIEW! The Tropical Hideaway Has Switched Up One of Our Favorite Snacks at Disneyland!

Greetings from The Tropical Hideaway, fellow tiki bird and Dole Whip enthusiasts!

Tropical Hideaway

While this little patio oasis opened back in 2018 to offer weary Adventureland explorers a much-needed rest and a snack — it seems they’ve updated their menu. And it appears one of our favorite tropical treats might have gotten the axe!

At this time we can’t be certain whether or not the Pineapple Lumpia we love at this joint has vanished for good or not, but today we noticed the delicious snack was NO LONGER THERE! The pineapple lumpia was always listed simply as “Sweet Lumpia” and we noticed that the ingredients in a Sweet Lumpia had CHANGED! The new variety of lumpia was listed on Tropical Hideaway’s mobile order menu today and features banana and jackfruit!

Like we said, the Banana Jackfruit Lumpia could just be replacing the Pineapple Lumpia for a short time, so we still might see the Pineapple Lumpia return from the jungle at any time! And rest assured if you’re a fan of the savory Pork Lumpia, it’s still listed on the official menu and hasn’t gone anywhere!

We’re huge fans of the pineapple version of this sweet treat but thankfully, we loved this new one too!

Banana Jackfruit Lumpia

While the jackfruit didn’t come through very much, we could definitely taste the banana! The warm caramel sauce drizzled over the tops of the lumpia married the flavors together perfectly! You get two of these little crispy rolls per order and we’d definitely get these guys again! They weren’t as sweet at the Pineapple Lumpia which, if you’ll recall, are dusted in sugar after they’re deep-fried, but the Banana Jackfruit Lumpia still had a nice balance of flavors to them and an excellent crispy, flaky wrapper!
