Disneyland is serving up ALL kinds of eats and treats for Christmastime!
There’s seafood, grilled cheese, French dip, Chicken Mole, and MORE (whew!!) ringing in the holiday season in the parks. Buuuut, we’re leaving meat behind and grabbing something a lil bit different than the norm in Adventureland!
The Yellow Curry Rice Plate is being served up at Bengal Barbecue, and it looks (and smells) AH-MAZING! Seriously, just follow the intoxicating aroma of grilled meats and veggies in Adventureland and it will take you straight here!
The plant-based plate is piled with herb grilled tofu, jasmine rice, scallions, a vegetable skewer, citrus-miso slaw, and plenty of yellow curry sauce (yum!!).
If spicy food is a little too much for you, don’t worry! The flavor of this dish is mild enough for all guests to enjoy! Upon first glance, the tofu looks like fish or chicken, and you almost forget that it isn’t meat. And, boy is it GOOD! Seriously, even the tofu-adverse in your group will likely enjoy this (we were surprised we did!). The curry sauce pairs wonderfully with the tofu, adding more flavor from the herbs and spices. Plus, the rice gives the soft tofu a different texture that makes our tastebuds go wild!
And yet, somehow, Disney can even make vegetables taste so good that the vegetable skewer and citrus-miso slaw are the best parts of the meal! (Wait, whaaat??) We couldn’t get enough of the seasoned potatoes on the skewer and the burst of sesame flavor from the slaw. Honestly, we could have just had a bowl of slaw and veggie skewers on the side!! Pro tip: The lime on the skewer adds a tangy kick to the Yellow Curry Rice Plate if you squeeze it onto the dish.
The curry sauce kinda mixed with everything on the plate, so you had hints of curry on everything (yes, even the veggies). We really love the flavor the curry gives each separate part of the meal. It’s just so delicious!! If you’re looking for a non-meat option in Disneyland, you’re definitely going to want to try this over the holidays.
You can get the Yellow Curry Rice Plate for $16.99 before the Annual Passholder discount for Christmas. And, trust us — you’re going to want this one all to yourself! (;
