UM…The New Holiday Puppets in Disney's Animal Kingdom are the CUTEST!

Yesterday we spent some time in Animal Kingdom to check out the November 8th craziness, and we got to see all the brand new merry experiences in the park!

Animal Kingdom Lanterns

We’ve been on the edge of our seats since we found out that Animal Kingdom would be joining the other three parks with its own BRAND NEW holiday offerings! We spotted the first sign of the celebrations when festive holiday lanterns appeared on Discovery Island a few days ago and now the festivities are finally here! Our fave part you ask? The GORGEOUS life-size puppets!

The Animal Kingdom holiday puppets are a part of the celebrations on Discovery Island where the “inhabitants have artisan-crafted life-size puppets.” We got a sneak peek at how these puppets work a few weeks ago and oh by gosh, by golly… they are SO COOL in person!

Holiday Puppets

There are a ton of different animal designs big and small and the puppeteers interact with one another to create a dazzling experience for onlookers! Their eyes even open and close. Look at the Mama Polar Bear puppet and the Baby Polar Bear puppet!

The puppets work in different ways, some are controlled by a handle or stick, others by attaching to the cast members own movements. This little penguin family were definitely our fluffy faves!!

The puppets are accompanied by musicians scattered around Discovery Island so that guests can enjoy the festive and unique holiday tunes while they experience the magic of these beautiful puppets! This fox puppet sure seemed to enjoy the festivities!

If you’re thinking of heading to Animal Kingdom to celebrate the holidays, you don’t want to miss out on seeing these puppets. They’re made beautifully and kiddos absolutely loved seeing all the different arctic animals come to life.

These puppets will be wandering the streets of Discovery Island for the whole holiday season, so head towards the Tree of Life and make a new life-size arctic friend!
