We’re singing “Hakuna Matata” at the top of our lungs since the live-action version of The Lion King opens in just a few days on Friday, July 19th!
The Lion King Celebration
In preparation for the exciting film release, Disney has introduced themed merchandise, shows (like the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party), and delicious treats. But now, Disney has announced that even MORE fun stuff inspired by The Lion King is on the way to the parks. We’re talkin’ about a new Dooney & Bourke Collection, people!
Oh yeah, an all-new Dooney collection has been created and it features some of our favorite characters from The Lion King like Simba, Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa.

This new collection includes a satchel, crossbody, and tote and can be found at Mombasa Marketplace and Discovery Trading Company in Disney’s Animal Kingdom beginning July 19th. As far as we know, this collection will only be available at Animal Kingdom but we’ll let you know if it shows up elsewhere!
Other unique Lion King offerings around Walt Disney World include The Lion King Collection at Uniqlo, The Lion King Petit Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie, The Lion King snacks around Animal Kingdom, and the opportunity to help save the lions by riding a popular Animal Kingdom attraction.
