Welcome to another What’s New coming at you from Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! Lately we’ve seen lots of construction progress in various locations, and there’s no shortage of new merchandise, either! So put on your sunscreen, and let’s explore!

What’s New in Magic Kingdom Construction

Construction continues on the pathway that meanders behind Cinderella Castle. The moat has been drained for several weeks, and there’s quite a bit of action — particularly on the walls of the pathway that can be seen as you cross over.

In addition to scaffolding and other construction equipment and supplies, steel reinforcements are visible in the concrete wall.

It’s… not so pretty, we’ll be honest. We can’t wait for that moat to be refilled so we can get our Castle shots back! 😉

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe has been undergoing a facelift, and hello, refreshed paint! We’ll be watching to see if another color is added to the overall scheme and for other details to pop out. But for now, we think this brighter exterior is already an improvement!

The Tron Coaster in Tomorrowland is showing some signs of progress! See our post here about how it’s taking shape!

The views from Goofy’s Barnstormer are even better! Lots of steel supports that will be hoisting up a coaster in the next couple of years!

And on Saturday, the Tomorrowland Speedway reopened, with cars zippin’ around the rerouted track and lots of teal paint bringing a refreshed look to the attraction.

What’s New in Magic Kingdom Food

There’s not much change to report on the food scene this time, but we love the soft colors of this Spring Mickey Krispy! We found pre-packaged Spring treats in various Park locations, but none are available fresh in the confectionery cases.

And this new-to-us treat comes direct from Minnie’s Sweets! The Cocoa Spoon might not be seasonally appropriate… but we still want one!

This is a wooden spoon stuck in a solid Mickey chocolate piece that’s covered in mini marshmallows.

What’s New in Magic Kingdom Merchandise

We found a few fun merchandise pieces — starting with this hilarious “Oh, Hei Hei!” shirt!

And for the queens and kings in us all: “I Rule the Magic Kingdom” tanks are one of our favorite pieces from the Disney Forever collection!

We also dig these colorful Mickey Balloon Sunglasses! We need them in our lives (and they’ll last longer than an actual Mickey Balloon, so they’re an investment!)!

We’ve spotted this fluffy Rainbow Unicorn Keychain at Hollywood Studios and at Disneyland Resort, and now they’ve arrived in Magic Kingdom with a couple of friends.

And Minnie Mouse in fluffy keychain form. It’s cute, but we’re still asking why.

More Americana pins are out, including Oswald!

Mickey is clearly reveling in his stars and stripes!

And this Minnie Bow is just super cute! Between the glittery red stripes and the Mickeys mixed in with the stars, we’re all over this one.

Walt Disney World has an Americana spirit jersey to go with the Americana backpack and ears!

And for the MagicBand collector (or those who like to wear their patriotism on their sleeves!): Americana MagicBand!
