Mocha Cupcake
That’s why we we’re happy to bring you a NEW Mocha Cupcake at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
So… let’s sink our teeth into this offering. The Mocha Cupcake is filled with coffee mousse and is topped with coffee buttercream, a coffee bean, and chocolate discs.

We thought the coffee mousse in the center was great, and we also really enjoyed the coffee buttercream! BUT…we were disappointed with the cake base itself. It was pretty dry and honestly nearly tasteless, offering just a hint of mocha flavor. We’re hoping this was just part of a bad batch, because this one could really woo coffee fans when well-executed.

We were also surprised to find that that the coffee bean on top is actually chocolate, too, just like the discs. The tiny shavings were pretty yummy and actually taste like mocha (unlike the cake!). Obviously, you should steer clear of this one if you aren’t a coffee fan, because this is definitely a cupcake for coffee lovers due to the strength of the mocha flavors where present!
