Disney’s Hollywood Studios is 30 years old today

, and to celebrate, Disney’s pulling out all the specialty treat stops! And The Sorcerer’s Hat 30th Anniversary Treat is selling out fast!

In fact, cast members we spoke to said they might have more around dinner time today (5/1/19) at ABC Commissary, but they couldn’t promise it! (Though perhaps there’s still some hope that they’ll be available at the Fantasmic! snack carts for when the show rolls around tonight. Fingers crossed!)

It’s easy to see why guests are clamoring to get The Sorcerer’s Hat, what with that shiny blue exterior and silver moon and stars. It’s a great approximation of the classic hat!

If you do manage to get one for yourself, you’ll find a shortbread base topped with lemon sponge cake, vanilla Swiss buttercream, lemon curd, and white chocolate glaze.

There are two chocolate discs to add that Mickey touch! And in the blue glaze: edible glitter! It really is a special treat to look at (and photograph).

Buuuuuut… we were disappointed with this one. That blue glaze was strange, and the interior wasn’t worth the trouble of getting through it. There’s very little lemon curd, and the buttercream and cake aren’t very magical at all.

So this might be a treat for the ‘gram if you can manage to snag one, but if you can’t, there are much better-tasting treats available in the park for the celebration.
