When we were in Hollywood Studios last week we told you about a recent newcomer to the ABC Commissary menu, the Southwestern Steak Fries. Well, we went home and couldn’t stop thinking about those fries, so we were back at the ABC Commissary this week to give these a try!

Why couldn’t we stop thinking of these? They are fries are tossed in chipotle lime seasoning and topped with chili lime mayo and queso fresco — sounds amazing!

We’ve had steak fries here before that we’ve enjoyed. Right away we noticed the fries are thicker in this rendition — which we really appreciated as they held their toppings better than the thinner fries used before.

You can see there is good topping of queso fresco. The combination of the chipotle lime seasoning and chili lime mayo did get a little spicy, but not too spicy — just something to be aware of when ordering these if spicy food isn’t your favorite.

The only disappointing thing about these was we did think the portion size was a little small, but it is an appetizer, so it is probably sized appropriately — we just like our fries! 🙂 Overall, we really enjoyed these fries.

These were also victims of the recent price increase. The new price is $5.99 per order (they were previously $5.49 per order).
