Quiet on the set! There are some new lunch items available at Starring Rolls Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that we have to share!
Starring Rolls is a tiny cafe on the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard — doesn’t that location just scream show business? I usually swing by to check out its collection of sweet treats and pretty pastries, but the often-overlooked lunch options are worth a shot! Soups, salads, and sandwiches are the stars of the show at lunch time, and we suggest finishing off lunch with one of our all-time favorites, the Napoleon.
Ready?
And, ACTION!

The Tomato Bisque Soup is brand new on the menu, and while we’re super excited to have a soup here at all, it is also the…ONLY…soup. So if you feel like having the soup and salad combo for $11.49, this is your one and only option! On its own, it’s $2.99 and is snack credit eligible.
I was pleased with the thick consistency and large chunks of tomato throughout. It was more flavorful and filling than I expected, so I’d say it’s a good value for $2.99!
Next up — the Pastrami Sandwich served on a pretzel roll is a super hearty choice! The long pretzel roll is topped with pastrami, dijon mustard, red onions, arugula and swiss cheese. Are you hungry yet??
All of the flavors worked well together and the sandwich is HUGE! If you can’t tell already, I loved the pretzel roll — it was soft, tasted fresh and was very filling for a long day at the parks.
Overall, I think this is a great, quick option. The ingredients are an upgrade from other sandwich options at Hollywood Studios quick service restaurants!
Our vegetarian friends will be happy to see the Roasted Vegetable Sandwich served on a multi-grain croissant with portobello mushrooms, arugula, spinach, pickles, roasted tomatoes and red onions!
The croissant has a spread of herb mayo, and the veggies are lightly tossed in oil. But no worries; there’s no “sog” factor here. Between the fluffy croissant and tons of veggies, it’s a satisfying and filling lunch item.
I thought the vegetables were very fresh, and the oil, herb mayo and multi-grain croissant worked well together to make this sandwich flavorful. It doesn’t stack up IMO to the pressed vegetable sammy over at Backlot Express, but it’s still a good option.
Overall
Hollywood Studios isn’t known for its A-list cuisine, so we’re happy to see some more upscale, fresh items on the lunch menu at Starring Rolls. Everything was fresh and tasty — just the way we like it!
Would you schedule Starring Rolls for lunch? Or is it still more of a dessert stop for you? Let us know in the comments!
