I watched this in theaters when it first came out, but I am so excited to finally be able to watch the adorable story of Lilo and her best pal, Stitch, from the comfort of my couch. I love being an AMC A-List Member, but I never underestimate the joy of playing on my phone while watching a movie.
We’ll be the first to admit that most members of our team aren’t very thrilled when Disney announces another live-action film or remake.

Sure, we’ve seen some decent ones in the past, but several of them end up being flops, and we wonder why Disney keeps doing them. When Disney announced they’d be doing a live-action remake of one of our childhood favorites, Lilo & Stitch, we were TERRIFIED. Although the marketing has been hilarious, fans weren’t 100% sure the movie would deliver…but based on recent reviews, that is far from the case!
Disney’s newest live-action movie is almost here!

The live-action Lilo and Stitch is headed to theaters on May 23rd, 2025, and we are pretty excited! While we’re looking forward to the new movie, not everyone is, and it’s already received a share of criticism online. The movie’s director has now personally responded to some of the online chatter.
Is that a dog? He’s blue, so that doesn’t make sense. He must be an alien, right? Well, whatever he is, he’s pretty cute. Stitch is totally having a moment right now — everyone is talking about him! What’s with all the Stitch discourse?

We’re glad you asked! The animated Lilo & Stitch movie premiered waaay back in 2002, but a brand-new live-action version of the film is coming soon. And we finally got our first official movie trailer! We have a lot of thoughts, so be prepared to talk about it.
I don’t want to be mean. I don’t like being the Negative Nancy (sorry to the Nancys…nothing personal!). I want to give Disney a chance! But, at this point, I’ve given Disney about…20 chances. Enough is enough.

If you love a live-action remake, you might not like what I am going to say. My arguments are probably not any different than what people are saying in Disney’s comment section. But after the latest live-action Lilo & Stitch promotion came out online, I had to say something. Where do we draw the line?!
