Planning a trip to Disneyland Resort? Then you’ll want to be IN THE KNOW about Disneyland’s Lightning Lanes!

Disneyland’s Lightning Lanes provide access to “Lightning Lanes” for rides so guests can bypass Standby lines for select attractions through an extra purchase made on the Disneyland app. This optional service helps guests maximize their time in the Disneyland Resort theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

There are three types of Lightning Lane services available for purchase:

• Lightning Lane Multi Pass; 
• Lightning Lane Single Pass;
• And Lightning Lane Premier Pass. 

As of July 24th, 2024, the skip-the-services that were previously part of Disney Genie changed to Lightning Lanes. What was previously Disney Genie+ is now Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lanes are now Lightning Lane Single Pass. Additionally, a new third all-inclusive Lighting Lane option debuted on October 23rd, 2024: Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

This page explores ALL THREE Lighting Lane options for use in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

 

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an optional paid service available within the Disneyland App that allows you to bypass standby queues and instead enter the Lightning Lane (previously known as the FastPass/MaxPass line) in the parks by paying a base price for multiple attractions.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass starts at $34 per day, per ticket* at Disneyland Resort. If you’re visiting on a busier day, the price will likely be higher than that, because prices vary by date. The highest price we have seen in Disneyland Resort thus far is $39 per day, per ticket. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass service is subject to availability.

*Disneyland Magic Key holders are eligible for a 25% discount on Lightning Lane Multi Pass. 

Guests can find the pricing for the day on the home screen of the Disneyland app. 

Guests are able to select return times for 1 ride at a time with a one-hour arrival window. Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections can be made upon entering the theme park in Disneyland theme parks. Once you use a selection, you can make another one based on what is still available on the Disneyland app.

There is no limit to the amount of rides guests are able to select (pending availability for each attraction).

WHEN TO PURCHASE LIGHTNING LANE MULTI PASS:

Guests may purchase and add Lightning Lane Multi Pass to a park ticket or vacation package in advance for $32 per ticket, per day OR purchase it once they enter a theme park (which is subject to date-based pricing) via the Disneyland app.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass ride selections can be made upon entering the theme park in Disneyland theme parks.

Lightning Lane Single Pass

For guests wishing to ride Disneyland’s most popular attractions without a wait, Lightning Lane Single Pass is a separate paid upcharge from the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Lightning Lane Single Pass allows guests to select return times to enter the Lightning Lane once for a maximum of two specific, more popular attractions.

The full list of attractions available for Individual Attraction Selection in Disneyland Resort is as follows, and prices (presented in the range we’ve seen) vary by date. 

Disneyland Resort: 

• Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland — $20 – $28 per person
• Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure — $7 – $22 per person

The price will populate within the Disneyland app so it can be seen prior to purchasing.

WHEN TO PURCHASE LIGHTNING LANE SINGLE PASS:

Lightning Lane Single Pass may be purchased in the Disneyland app upon entering the Disneyland theme parks.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass

A NEW third option, Lightning Lane Premier Pass made its debut on October 23rd, 2024. This inclusive option grants one-time entry to EVERY available Lightning Lane experience (both Multi Pass and Single Pass) in BOTH of the Disneyland Resort theme parks for one price, eliminating the need to monitor Lightning Lane availability and make new Lighting Lane reservations throughout the day, and granting the ability to simply show up at an attraction and enter the Lightning Lane (as opposed to booking a specific time).

According to the Disneyland website, Lightning Lane Premier Pass prices for Disneyland Resort “vary by date and demand within a $300 to $400 range.” 

WHEN TO PURCHASE LIGHTNING LANE PREMIER PASS:

Guests must have valid admission to a Disneyland Resort theme park prior to purchasing, and may purchase up to seven (7) days prior to their park visit, starting at 7AM Pacific Time. 

Disney also notes that guests visiting with a Walt Disney Travel Company package can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass when they receive their park tickets 2 days in advance of their arrival.

Lightning Lane Premier Passes are subject to limited availability. Before you purchase, everyone in your party will need valid park admission and Park Reservations for that date.
