Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort will be home to the very first ride in a Disney park themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco!

You’ll be joining Miguel on a special journey, seeing characters and hearing unforgettable songs from Coco on a trip to the Land of the Dead.
The new Coco ride will be located near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier in areas that are predominantly backstage currently.

In the concept art above, you can see part of Incredicoaster (in Pixar Pier) on the left. Based on that, it looks like the ride will go in the area south of Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta and behind Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. We’ll have to wait and see to know for sure, but that’s the hint we got from the art Disney shared!
When Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced the new attraction in August 2024, he shared that “Walt Disney Imagineering will draw inspiration for the attraction from beloved classics, like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. We’re bringing our skeletal cast of characters to life in a big way through the latest Audio-Animatronics technology. These figures will appear in ways you’ll have to see to believe.”

Construction on this new attraction is set to begin backstage in the fall of 2025 (and a permit for work was filed in June 2025), while the attraction itself is set to break ground in 2026.
