Das Stakehaus
Found in Dark Universe, Das Stakehaus is a Quick Service restaurant themed around an “old inn and dining hall built over the ruins of ancient catacombs.” According to the area’s lore, the town of Darkmoor features a coven of vampires living beneath it, and these are the same vampires who operate Das Stakehaus within the land.
The restaurant features vampire artwork and artifacts and meals are served by “familiars”, also known as vampire servants. The immersive theming is meant to give you the perspective of vampires themselves, as the paintings and architecture depict vampires as “heroes in their stories while displaying some of Darkmoor’s history, and referencing its architecture.”
The menu features burgers, kebabs, sandwiches, and more. (The name is not only a play on the Eastern European setting of vampire lore, but a literal play on words — “stake” instead of “steak” as it relates to vampires is a fiendishly funny double entendre!) Dishes include Stakes (of course!), a “Blood” Orange Chicken Sandwich, Our Favorite Vegan Familiar’s Stuffed Cabbage, and Carved Staked Steak. Reaper’s Reserve – the Dark Universe signature beer — are also on offer.

- Crimson Glazed Pork — char siu-style roasted pork belly with bloody roast pork dipping sauce, charred green onion mashed potatoes, roasted baby carrots, acorn squash, crispy maitake mushrooms
- Forager Salad — crispy maitake mushrooms, acorn squash, red beets, blue cheese, arugula and bibb lettuce tossed in a blueberry pomegranate dressing with a grilled chicken stake

Nosh or Not
This Epic Universe restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You love theming. We have to give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 for theming because the gothic vibe is SO strong here. Universal really put its love for its monster universe in this restaurant.
- You’re okay with bland food. Hey, we get it. Some people require bland diets, and we feel like this is a spot that could meet those requirements.
- You want a quick and easy meal. One thing we loved was how easy it was to order here by using Mobile Order and having it brought right to our table.
You should skip this Epic Universe spot if…
- You have picky eaters in your party. We’re going to say that although the food here is bland, the presentation could put off some kids and picky eaters. We’re STILL not over the whole “maggot” thing.
- You want a table service restaurant experience. This is quick service, meaning you won’t get the kind of service you would get at a fancier table service establishment.
- You don’t like eating in the dark. The theme here is dark, as is the restaurant. Some folks don’t like eating in super dark restaurants, so you’ll want to stay away.

- Das Stakehaus is a Quick Service restaurant and everything is available via Mobile Order on the free Universal Orlando app. You sit at your table, scan the QR code there, order your food, and that’s it. Your food and drinks are brought out to you.
