Oh the Humanity! Tiny Train Town in EPCOT Just Had a Major Cheese-tastrophe!

Welcome back to Tiny Train Town updates with Madam Mayor!

Let’s go to Tiny Train Town!

If you’ve never come along with me on a visit to Disney World’s itty bitty city, then you’re in for a wild ride! The tiny train village in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT is full of shenanigans and ne’er-do-wells, and as the mayor of the village, it’s my job to report on all the nonsense. Let’s go see what they’re up to!

Let’s kick off this update with a stop in the town square! Despite the heat, the citizens were out and about doing their shopping. We’re in that strange lull between festivals in EPCOT, so there are no decorative banners (if you didn’t know, the tiny banners in the train village change with the EPCOT festivals). Surprisingly, things were pretty quiet in town center today!

But the same could not be said for out on the rails! A transport car fell off the tracks just as it passed over a bridge, dumping its cargo into the ravine below. Thankfully, the conductor survived, but you know what didn’t? Three thousand pounds of cheese being imported for the town’s fondue party…OH THE HUMANITY!!! How ever will we have the Fondue & Friends Fest NOW?!

As you may recall, the Old Men’s Mahjong Club has recently formed up and started meeting around town (chess clubs are SO last year). The guys from the retirement community found this table set up outside one of the town’s chapels, but when they sat down to play, they discovered a patch of quicksand! Seriously, quicksand in our little village? What are the ODDS?!

And speaking of the chess club, attendance is dwindling these days thanks to the cheating scandal at the tournament a few months ago. Bill just sits at the table in the gazebo waiting for opponents all day long. But nobody wants to play with you, Bill! That’s what happens when you’re a cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.

Thankfully, no citizens were seriously harmed with this week’s shenanigans (a nice break from murder plots and riots, if I do say so myself). Maybe we’ll have a nice, calm summer season? Unlikely, but a Mayor can dream.

* The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as it’s one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been.
