Disney has recently announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. But what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet?
We’re always keeping up with the latest construction permits that Disney World files, as it can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted some you might want to know about!
Disney World recently filed some Notices of Commencement for construction permits that could point to major changes coming to the parks, starting with EPCOT. A new permit was filed to install signage in the Land Pavilion!
While the permit doesn’t specify exactly where in the Land Pavilion this new signage is being installed, we have a feeling it might have something to do with the changes coming to Soarin’ Around the World.
Soarin’ Around the World is getting a patriotic makeover for the 250th birthday of the U.S.A., changing into Soarin’ Across America. According to the Disney World website, Soarin’ Across America will debut on May 26th, 2026. To make way for the changes, Soarin’ Around the World will close on May 13th, 2026, which would align with the filing of this new permit. We’ll have to wait and see for sure, though!
We spotted even more permits over at Hollywood Studios, in Galaxy’s Edge. Three new permits were filed to install set elements in Galaxy’s Edge, specifically behind Black Spire Outfitters.
Disney hasn’t announced anything new for this area, so we’re interested to see what this ends up being. It does seem like something we’ll end up being able to see, however, as the contractor listed on the permit is Icarus Exhibits. This company has worked with Disney several times in the past to bring attractions and more to life, including TRON: Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom, set pieces in Toy Story Land, and even past elements of Galaxy’s Edge.
We’re excited to see what these new permits might end up being for, and we will let you know as soon as we find out!
We’ll be on the lookout for more Disney World permits you need to know about. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and beyond!
