What Do Harry Potter Fans REALLY Think of the New HBO Series Trailer?

With the original announcement of this adaptation being all the way back in 2023, fans have been excitedly awaiting any news. Finally, a few days ago, the first look trailer dropped!

With any adaptation, especially one of a beloved franchise, the opinions from fans are rolling in! Some fans are so excited for this new adventure — with one Twitter user stating, “What nostalgia, having grown up with this and thinking that another generation will grow up with the same story…”

Many others share this excitement with another Twitter user sharing, “It means I’ll be glued to HBO to watch this series. Just like I was glued to the movies in my childhood.”

And many others are excited that it will be released this Christmas, instead of the previous 2027 release date, and thrilled over the new casting, with one user saying, “Hermione Granger is perfectly cast.”

However, there are also a fair number of users who are sharing their worries about the upcoming series. Such as one Twitter user who fears this show will be too redundant of the original movies to be needed. They commented, “What’s the point of this if they’re just going to use all the same sets?” Or another user who expresses similar concerns, “Is this not just the movies all over again?” This has been a critique of the show since it was first announced.

However, it seems like many fans are extremely excited for the opportunity to re-immerse themselves in the nostalgia and magic of the Potter world — with another user exclaiming, “The kid in me just screamed. The adult in me joined in.”
