Happy Valentine’s Day weekend, DFB readers. Now, if you’re in Disney World, we’re imagining you’re spending some time enjoying some great food at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts (and pro tip: here are our favorite food and drinks there) or maybe you’re seeking out some of the Valentine’s Day treats that have landed all over the resort.
However, there’s one Valentine’s Day treat that is exclusive to THIS WEEKEND ONLY, and if you’re wanting to get your hands on it, you’ll want to run to Disney Springs NOW.
This weekend only, Gideon’s Bakehouse is offering a special cake, the Valentine Trinity Cake, which features a layer of strawberry cake, chocolate cake, and Italian cheesecake with strawberry buttercream, chocolate buttercream, and marshmallow buttercream. Yes, this cake is EXTRA. This cake slice, though, is ONLY available today, February 14th, and tomorrow, February 15th. You are limited to two slices per person, and it’s only available while supplies last.
Note that Gideon’s does make a few notes about the cake slice. First, you need to keep it cool. Also, cheesecakes can release moisture in varying temperatures, but you can just give it a little dab to return it to normal. What’s most interesting about this cake, though, is that it comes with a story. Before Gideon’s actually existed, the owner of Gideon’s, Steve Lewis, would sell cakes with a cheesecake center. This recipe was passed down from Lewis’ Italian family. In 10 years, it has never been duplicated in a cake for the shop…UNTIL NOW.
Also, if you’re visiting the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, Gideon’s art director, Michael Reyes, will be there on Saturday from noon to 3 PM, Sunday from 4 to 7 PM, and on Monday from noon to 3 PM. He’ll have an exclusive 16 x 20 Dr. Tobias Brimstone print available (and yes, Dr. Tobias looks a lot like former Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde). Other art pieces will also be available.
We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World news (and new snacks!), so stay tuned to DFB for more.
