Could Marvel Be Making a 'Deadpool 4'?!

There has been a ton of buzz around Marvel and the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the highly anticipated release of Avengers: Doomsday coming later this year. We know that Avengers: Secret Wars will follow, but what does the future of the MCU look like after that?

There has been rumour and speculation of certain movies and characters taking place as the forefront of the MCU’s next phase, and one of them could be one of Marvel’s hottest characters, Deadpool! Why do we say this? Well, signs are pointing to the possibility of a fourth Deadpool movie in the future.

Deadpool joined the MCU fairly recently, with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024. The third film in the franchise was a huge success, breaking box office records and giving the MCU a different type of look. According to ScreenRant, it was reported by Puck that Deadpool 4 could ALREADY be in the works! Well, kind of.

There isn’t a whole lot of detail, and definitely NO confirmation. However, the project would see Ryan Reynolds return as Deadpool for another movie, which is something the actor really wants. The report stated that Ryan Reynolds is “wisely focused” on his next Deadpool movie. It’s a character he and his fans have loved since he first played him in 2016.

Obviously, that doesn’t mean that plans are for sure happening for Deadpool 4, but it also doesn’t mean that it’s not. When looking at the box office success of the third movie, the fans’ love for the character, and the MCU looking to restart after Phase 6, it just makes sense that there would be another Deadpool movie!

For now, let’s not think too far ahead, as Marvel has TONs of projects coming in 2026! Marvel’s newest Disney+ series, Wonder Man, is officially out on the streaming platform. You can also expect to see Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, a new season of X-Men ’97, a new season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, a new series called Vision Quest, and The Punisher Marvel TV Special all coming to Disney+ this year!

As for theatrical releases, Marvel has two on the slate for 2026, and they’re HUGE! On July 31st, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will drop. The highly anticipated fourth installment of the Tom Holland Spider-Man franchise is sure to deliver an exciting experience. The year will then end with what might be the most anticipated movie of 2026, Avengers: Doomsday, releasing on December 18th!
