Why All Coffee Lovers Are Running to Disney Springs Tomorrow

We’re all for special events in Disney Springs, and we do our best to tell you all about them as soon as possible so you know what’s going on.

Some of these events are so short lived they only last a day, and one of those is happening TOMORROW, January 25th, at Raglan Road! It’s perfect for those who love coffee, or, more specifically, Irish Coffee.

Raglan Road Wakeup Call is happening TOMORROW, Sunday, January 25th, for one day only! Their slogan for the event is, “You Buy the Coffee, We Buy the Whiskey!”

Tomorrow is National Irish Coffee Day, and Raglan Road is more than ready to celebrate with its traditional Lost Irish Coffee. Rachael Conroy, General Manager of Raglan Road, said that Irish Coffee deserves this recognition, as “It’s a great drink any time of day, and if whiskey and coffee each get their own national days, Irish coffee should have its day in the sun, too.”

The restaurant’s Lost Irish Coffee is a well-done mix of coffee, Lost Irish Whiskey, House-made Demerara sugar syrup, and cream. Did you know that the history of Irish Coffee dates back to 1943? When an airline’s flying boat made a rough landing at the port town of Foynes in Co. Limerick, Chef Joe Sheridan offered the weary and shaken-up tourists a coffee with whiskey and sugared cream. The drink was a huge hit, and nine years later, the historic Buena Vista Café in San Francisco recreated the Irish coffee and wowed people with a whole spectacle, making the drink.

Time to Drink Up!

Tomorrow, to celebrate this special event, Buena Vista Café head bartender, Tony, joins Raglan Road for an evening exhibition of his Irish-coffee-making skills! You can find Tony behind one of several Raglan Road bars, as well as wheeling a cart through the pub to perform for guests. It’s something you won’t want to miss if you’re a big fan of the drink!
