It’s a big day for “Phineas and Ferb” fans!

We’ve been enjoying watching Season 5 on Disney+, since the second half of the season recently dropped on the streaming service, and now there’s MORE news about the franchise, the Gen Z members of our team couldn’t be more stoked about. It’s just been announced that a NEW movie is on the way!

According to Variety, Disney has now greenlit a new “Phineas and Ferb” film, the third one in the franchise, to begin production later this year. It will release on Disney+ and then on Disney Channel at a later date.

Phineas and Ferb

The logline for the new film is, “Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest time‑travel experiment backfires, erasing the moment Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad — meaning the boys never become brothers and every day is merely adequate. As reality unravels and the future hangs in the balance, Phineas and Ferb must restore the timeline before it’s too late.” The series’ voice actors will also return for the film, including, but not limited to, Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet, Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Francis Monogram.

Povenmire and Marsh will act as co-creators and executive producers of the film, which will be written by Kate Kondell and Jeff Howard, directed by Bob Bowen, and produced by Brandi Young. In a joint statement about the film, Povenmire and Marsh said, “We’ve always wanted to explore a story centered on family and unconditional love, preferably in a way that’s bold and sentimental yet classically funny. We’re grateful to Ayo and her team for giving us the runway to expand Danville and take these characters to a whole new level.”
