The Disney World Ride Change That Makes Me Shed a Tear Each Year

There is one sign that marks the start of the holiday season for me at Disney World, and it’s when I see a silly little purple dragon wearing his blue Christmas sweater. It’s one of those things that only makes sense to Disney Adults, but if you know, you know.

FIGMENT!!!!!!

Unfortunately, if his sweater marks the start, it can also mark the end. Come along as we say our official goodbyes for the Figment Christmas sweater.

First, we had to say hi to Figment on Journey Into Imagination with Figment. You’ll find him all over the ride, but he only wears his sweater in the sound scene (don’t ask why it’s only there, I don’t know). He normally wears a yellow sweater, because I guess it’s chilly in the sound room, and that quarter zip option was back on.

Now we must say hi to the big dragon himself. He might be tiny on the ride, but he grows into a hugging size in ImageWorks, which is where you can meet him. Not sure why sometimes he wears clothes and sometimes he doesn’t, but do what you will with that information.

Now that I’m a little sad, at least I only have to wait 10 months to see it again. This year, you could buy the sweater along with matching ears to help keep the spirit alive.

Christmas isn’t entirely over in the parks yet. Festival of the Holidays has ended, but there are still tons of Christmas trees up around the property. It usually goes down after the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which is from January 7th to 11th, so now’s the time to get your final pictures in.
