There are gingerbread houses, and then there are gingerbread HOUSES!

2024 Gingerbread House at Grand Floridian
We’ve seen our fair share of stunning, big, and, we will admit, delicious gingerbread creations at Disney World. However, we have never seen anything like this before. If you don’t believe us, maybe the fact that this gingerbread house was competing for a Guinness World Record will change your mind!
Take a look at a 25-foot-tall gingerbread house inspired by the McCallister home from the iconic Home Alone movies, which you can see in Los Angeles! Does that mean there’s a gingerbread Kevin protecting the house from a gingerbread Marv and a gingerbread Harry?

The gingerbread house is a two-story structure, located at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, and is part of Disney+ and Hulu’s celebration of the beloved holiday classic’s 35th anniversary. The gingerbread was built in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gingerbread house, a title held since 2013, according to KTLA5.

This gingerbread house is MASSIVE, and you can probably tell just by looking at the picture. It’s made from 5,700 pounds of all-purpose flour and more than 4,200 eggs. The McCallister home is constructed from 4,400 gingerbread brick tiles and 800 roof tiles — measuring at a crazy 58 feet long and 42 feet wide.

The stats for this house get even crazier. The gingerbread structure is held together with 20 gallons of edible glue and finished with 20 pounds of fondant, according to Disney. So, you can still eat it since it seems like everything is edible!

What’s nice is Disney is encouraging visitors of the house to donate a gift are encouraged to donate a gift in honor of the holiday season. Disney said, “Tis the season of giving … help create holiday magic by donating a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots in person while visiting the gingerbread house.”
