We’ve said it before, and we’ll continue shouting it from the rooftops: the shoes you choose to wear to Disney World are IMPORTANT!
We’ve tested a ton of different products around Disney World, and that includes shoes. Which ones are the best for wide feet? Which won’t rub you the wrong way? And which shoes are worth the money? We’ve got the answers — and that’s why HOKAs and Brooks shoes are the only ones you should wear to Disney World in 2026.

These babies are built for long-term wear. While we’ve been able to break them in, the don’t look worn or sunken in and still keep a firm look about them. They’re still springy against the heels and soles of your feet when you step, but not in a way that makes you feel like you’re going to leap into the air with each step. It’s just a nice, gentle give that greets your foot as you walk normally.
We love that the Hokas fit around our feet in a cradling way instead of leaving us feeling like we’ve added pounds to our feet with each step
Most shoes that are thicker-heeled, like these, come off really bulky, but that evens out when you step because it’s a vertical bulk instead of a horizontal one that’s meant to cushion instead of widen when worn. For the sneaker adverse, we think these will be the ones to convert you instantly.
We also love the Brooks Ghost 17 shoes
These shoes deliver on their promise for a comfortable shoe. They’re a little heavy, which can be difficult to get used to at first, but after you walk around in them, you can start to feel them conform around your foot and give you that extra cushion. They’re extremely comfortable in the heel — where you’ll need it most — thanks to the nitrogen-infused cushioning in the heel and forefoot.
The air mesh around the upper part of the shoe has been redesigned with a kickback collar and a breathable structure, so your feet aren’t super sweaty just from walking around in them, and the updated midsole works with the flex grooves in the outsole to continue the support throughout the step and not just the initial impact.
The cushioning makes you more bouncy and feel like you’re gliding as you step, rather than sending a full-on impact to your body with each foot drop. If you’re not someone who likes a firm grip around your foot, you might want to err on the safe side and size up a half or full size. These have extra cushioning everywhere, including the inside of the heel, which might feel a little restrictive if you’re not used to having your foot fit snugly in your shoe.

Based on your prior recommendations, my wife and I went out and got HOKA Bondi 9’s. Wow, all day in Magic Kingdom on brand new shoes and our feet felt wonderful. Thank you so much for the advice.
We are so happy to hear they worked out for you, Mark!
