A MagicBand+ will still work when it loses juice in terms of scanning you into the parks or Lightning Lanes, but if you want the full creative experience that the band offers, such as light-syncing effects, you’ll need to make sure it has power. This little accessory certainly helps!

Unfortunately, I’ve had the misfortune of having a MagicBand come undone and fall off my wrist during a Disneyland day, only to notice right before I was leaving the park.
