Stitch Makes Disney Broadway Debut…But Not How You Think

If you’ve ever managed to catch a Disney stage production on Broadway (or even on tour or seen Disney on Broadway at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts), you know it’s a real treat. Some of Disney’s most iconic movies have been made into Broadway plays, including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin.

However, audience members who saw Aladdin recently were in for an additional surprise. Stitch, doing what Stitch does best, crashed the show, and he did it for a good cause.

Stitch brought his uniqueness to the Aladdin stage on Broadway on December 10th. After the final curtain call of the show, Stitch popped up in a balcony box before joining Genie on stage. Stitch’s appearance was part of Disney’s Holiday Magic Tour, which is an initiative to donate to Toys for Tots.

Stitch was on stage to bring holiday cheer, but to also encourage audience members to donate toys to Toys for Tots for children who need it most. Disney is promoting its “Make Someone’s Holiday Magic” program to celebrate the joy of giving back through Toys for Tots. Disney is also doing a Holiday Magic Tour to more than 20 cities around the world to encourage Toys for Tots donations, community events, surprises, and more.
