When it comes to dining at Disneyland, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well.
We recently stopped by Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante at Disneyland Park to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Find out here!
Atmosphere
Welcome to Rancho del Zocalo! Take your taste buds to a new frontier where Mexican classics are served up ‘caliente’ right in the heart of Disneyland’s famed Frontierland.
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
Authentic Mexican dishes featured on the menu include burritos, enchiladas, nachos, street tacos, and more. But this is also a terrific location to check for seasonal offerings — just check out any of our reviews below to learn more!
Fresh and flavorful food, generous portions, and a beautiful setting with outdoor seating put Racho del Zocalo at the top of the list of our favorite counter service spots in Disneyland.
And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
We couldn’t help but order the Carne Asada Fries for $14.49. These are Fries topped with Spicy Cheese Sauce, Beans, Avocado Salsa, Carne Asada, and Chipotle-Lime Crema.
Despite what the menu said, our fries were garnished with spicy peppers instead of onions and cilantro, which we didn’t mind at all! Onions and cilantro would have been nice, but the peppers added a nice kick to the dish. We LOVE the type of twisty steak fries they use on these because they hold up to all the toppings!
The avocado sauce was seasoned wonderfully with a hint of tanginess, and it tasted fresh. The spicy cheese had a subtle (very subtle) kick that was mostly just nice flavor — although some heat did linger. The carne asada was tender but kind of plain; we would have liked to see more seasoning on the meat itself. Overall, we will definitely be getting these fries again!
For dessert, we picked up the Mickey-shaped Pumpkin Salted Dulce Cream Puff for $8.79. This is a seasonal treat filled with Pumpkin Mousse and Salted Dulce de Leche.
We hope you like pumpkin, because this was incredibly pumpkin-forward. Since this was a seasonal treat, it’s no longer available, but it was a pretty big hit with our reporter, who doesn’t even particularly like pumpkin. The inside was creamy with that pumpkin spice, and the outside of the puff was moist and chewy; not dry at all.
Of course, we had to pick up a drink to wash it all down, too.
Drinks
To drink, we grabbed the Hibiscus-Pomegranate Cooler for $7.29. This is a Spiced Hibiscus Tea with Pomegranate, Orange Juice, and Honey.
A lot was going on with this drink! The spiced tea was the most prominent flavor, so if you don’t like that sort of spice in your drinks, you can skip this one. We tasted the pomegranate and orange juices, but they were more subtle and added just a hint of sourness. The honey helps counteract some of the sourness, lending itself to a well-balanced drink.
So, is Rancho del Zocalo worth a stop the next time you’re at Disneyland?
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

- You’re not planning on spending time at Disneyland Park.
Overall
There’s a reason this is one of our favorite quick-service restaurants at Disneyland! The food here is excellent, though it’s similar to what you can get at your local Mexican joint. But sometimes, when you’re walking around a crowded theme park, all you want is something familiar. We will be thinking about the carne asada fries for a while (and will be going back to get them ASAP)!
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!
