Yo ho matey’s! Do you know where all the pirates aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Destiny, will be hanging out during their voyage across the sea?

Cask & Cannon
The Disney Destiny is setting sail for the first time on November 20th, and we are so excited! The brand-new ship is themed to heroes and villains, and you’ll encounter many of your favorite characters from Disney to Marvel. We got a chance to get an early look at the Disney Destiny, and we found the burried treasure (a lounge) where every mate will be hanging out!
Before we dive in, if you’re wanting to cruise with Disney, the agents at Small World Vacations know how to save you money! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation.
It’s time to step into Cask & Cannon — the pirate-themed lounge on the Disney Destiny. Right off the bat, we knew this was somewhere we could see us coming to time and time again. The whole lounge has striking details.

Dead Men Tell No Tales banner!
It has nice seatng areas from individual chairs to big booths. It felt like we were sitting and drinking in a pirate ship. You can even sit on barrels!

Seating
There was some cool decor on the walls and on the shelves. We could see things like treasure, candles, rum bottles, and other antique items.

There were also swords mounted on the wall — hopefully there aren’t any bar fights that’ll get started!

On the bar counter we could see the Dead Man’s Chest with bottles of The Kraken next to it. The themeing here was amazing!

Also, check out the taps. There’s a kraken tentacle, a parrot on a barrel, keys…

There are tons of food and beverage options available at this lounge. Should we start getting into the drinks?

The menu
The first thing we had was the Shiver Me Timbers for $20. This was made wiht Barrel Aged Goslings Spirited Seas Ocean Aged Rum, Demerara, and Orange Bitters. This is very much like an old fashion with rum. It’s very tasty and the rum is very smooth. It’s a strong drink — not nearly as sweet as other old fashioned drinks with more simple syrup in them.

Shiver Me Timbers
That being said, it was well-balanced with enough sugar in it to keep it from having a real bite. Again, the rum was good, and the orange citrus taste was a nice addition.

This was very tasty!
Next, we had the Drink Up Me Hearties for $15. It was made with Bacoo 11 Year Tequila Cask Rum, Patron Reposado, Giffard Banane du Bresil, and Cream. This is NOT a Pina Colada, BUT if you like Pina Colada you might like this. This has a tropical fruity flavor with that creamy mouth feel.

Drink Up Me Hearties
If you don’t like sweet drinks, this is not the one for you! The cream floats on the top, so you’ll need to stir it quite a bit to get the cream to mix in nicely. If you’re a tropical drink fan, this is one you 100% need to pick at Cask & Cannon.

It’s a sweeter drink!
After that, we had The Kraken for $14, which is made with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, Cointreau, Lime, Orgeat, and Ginger. This drink is like ginger beer spiked with rum, and that is the extent of the flavors we personally get from it. We’re not complaining, it is delicious, but if you are expecting something more complex, you will not find it here. There’s a gummy candy “kraken tentacle” floating in there, too!

The Kraken!
It is sweet but not overly sweet, refreshing in its own way, and leaves a warm burn in your stomach. If you love a Moscow Mule, give this a try. It is rum instead of vodka, with a very strong ginger beer flavor and just enough subtle extras to set it apart, at least on paper.

This one was interesting!
Last, but not least, we had The Dead Man’s Chest for $25. This is an experience for two pirates, and is made with Zacapa 23 Solera Rum, Pineapple, Lime, Agave, and Coconut Froth.

Dead Man’s Chest!
The Dead Man’s Chest is billed as an experience for two, and it really is. Your server brings out a small wooden treasure chest, opens it, and inside are two identical cocktails set on uplights so they glow through the smoke that spills out.

This is an experience!
There are even a few gold-wrapped chocolate coins tucked in the bottom.

Chocolate coin!
It’s theatrical, fun, and honestly a pretty good deal—most cocktails on the ship run $18–$25, and this entire chest with two drinks is $25 total.

How cool is this?!
The drinks themselves are served in highball glasses and taste like a classic tropical rum punch. You get strong pineapple and coconut flavors, with pineapple taking the lead.

Let’s have a taste!
If you like pineapple juice or rum punch, this will hit the spot. Plus, getting a matching drink with your travel partner and capturing the chest reveal makes for a great little moment — and a great video.

Cheers!
This lounge is unique, fun, and overall a great experience. You need to make sure you stop by here whenever you find yourself on the Disney Destiny. We’ve got lots more to show you with this brand-new cruise, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more!
