Happy holidays, everyone! Disney officially kicked off their Christmas season celebration tonight with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we couldn’t be more excited to see all the wonderful things this event has to offer!

Let’s eat some food!
Not only can you ride lots of your favorite attractions at much lower wait times, but you can also experience snow on Main Street, U.S.A., thanks to good ‘ol snoap (soap snow), check out entertainment unique to the party, as well as eat lots of party-exclusive snacks you can’t get anywhere else. We went to the opening night of the event this year and tried ALL the new snacks to let you know which ones are worth your time and which others may be better to skip, and let’s just say, some of them may surprise you!
Main Street, U.S.A.
Main Street Bakery is serving up the Christmas Wreath Cupcake for $5.99, which is a Peppermint confetti cupcake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with marshmallow buttercream and chocolate décor.

The Christmas Wreath Cupcake!
The base cupcake mostly tasted like a funfetti cupcake, with a hint of peppermint flavor, but it wasn’t in-your-face peppermint. There was a teeny tiny bit of chocolate ganache in the middle, which was very fudgy and rich, but there wasn’t a lot of it. The buttercream on top was fluffy and creamy, and reminded us a lot of marshmallow whip, but a bit sweeter and with a more buttery flavor. The Mickey icon was a milk chocolate, and the bow was a white chocolate. It was definitely a cute-looking cupcake, but we wouldn’t say it was anything super special that you need to grab at the party. There are so many other options that are more unique! But if you like a classic cupcake, this was a good one.

The cupcake!
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is home to the Santa Hat Brownie Sundae for $7.99, which is a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, crushed peppermint, whipped cream, and a red velvet cone with a marshmallow pompom.

The Santa Hat Brownie Sundae
This thing was a lot! The brownie itself has a more subtle peppermint taste, which our reporter preferred over a punch-in-the-face peppermint flavor. The peppermint shavings on the whipped cream were fun because they really made it into a traditional sundae, but were easily avoidable if you don’t like that. This one was fun and family-friendly thanks to its familiarity, yet fun twist. The peppermint gave it a nice crunch, which was balanced by the rich chocolate topping and heavy brownie. For the size, we also think the price isn’t too bad!

More Santa!
Casey’s Corner has two special snacks during the event, the first of which is the Holiday Pot Roast Mini Corn Dogs, topped with pot roast, beer-cheese sauce, crispy onions, and horseradish mustard for $14.79.

The corn dogs are under there, we promise!
These were delicious! It’s the classic Casey’s corn dog nugs, but the cheese sauce has more of a beer tang to it, which was great. We know they were advertised it that way, but you just never know! It was very yummy, creamy, and cheesy! The horseradish sauce was also great. It was creamy with a good amount of horseradish flavor without being crazy spicy or overpowering. The meat was super tender, and there was a decent amount of toppings on here. All of the components work together really well, making one of our favorites even better.

Have a bite!
The second party-exclusive snack at Casey’s Corner is the Holiday Pot Roast Loaded French Fries, topped with pot roast, beer-cheese sauce, crispy onions, and horseradish mustard for $8.29.

The holiday fries!
While we loved the toppings on the nuggets, they were a miss on the fries. They made the fries super soggy and a bit hard to eat. It made the fries mushy, and while we liked the toppings, they paled in comparison to the corn dogs.

These are huge!
Adventureland
Over at Aloha Isle, you can grab the Pomegranate Yule Float for $7.79. This is Ginger ale with DOLE Whip Pomegranate and vanilla soft-serve, pomegranate boba pearls, and a slice of lime (Non-alcoholic).

Pomegranate Yule Float
This was almost reminiscent of a cherry limeade! The pomegranate and lime were delicious and lovely. We seriously appreciated the ginger ale taste because it made it nice and bubbly. It was filled to the brim, so be cautious, it’ll be messy! It was a nice, elevated Christmas treat with a vanilla base and fruity twisty. Be prepared for the popping boba pearls at the bottom to make a splash – literally!

Have a bite!
You can grab Pastrami Reuben Spring Rolls at the Spring Roll Cart. These are served with served with thousand island sauce and are new to the party this year. Now, these are similar to the spring rolls that were available here during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, so we were excited about their return. They’re nice and crispy on the outside with a big fat layer of cheese in the middle (meaning they’re VERY cheesy), then the pastrami reuben with big chunks of meat.
There’s a hint of kick to these, too, although if you dip it in the sauce, it sort of mellows it out. It’s like eating a reuben sandwich in egg roll form. BUT it’s not like the rolls we remember from the 50th. Something was missing, but maybe that’s just nostalgia talking.
Liberty Square
Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is home to the Peppermint Bark Funnel Cake this year, which is topped with vanilla ice cream, peppermint and white chocolate sauces, M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies Holiday Blend, whipped cream, crushed peppermint, and festive sprinkles for $9.79.

The Peppermint Bark Funnel Cake
Our reporter said, and we quote, “It’s just meeehhh.” With it being called a peppermint bark funnel cake, we were expecting a lot more peppermint flavor. You can definitely taste it, but it is more of a subtle peppermint flavor than an in-your-face flavor. The ice cream was yummy, but it also overpowered the peppermint flavor a bit. We liked the crunch and peppermint flavor from the crushed candy canes on the top, and we wish there were more of them. It was just short of being delicious, but with a bit more topping, we could really enjoy it. It wasn’t bad by any means, we just want a bit more!

Another angel
Over at Liberty Square Market, you can get the Mickey Whoopie Pie for $6.79. This plant-based snack is chocolate cake sandwiched with marshmallow-mint buttercream. It’s also avaialable during regular park hours through January 3rd and at the party until 8:30 PM. Warning: this will stain your hands and teeth GREEN.
We honestly didn’t think we’d like this, but it’s a solid snack, especially for those people who love chocolate and mint flavors together. The cake is fluffy and moist with a rich chocolate flavor that’s not overtly sweet. The mint frosting has a light marshmallow flavor with the mint for a nice balance.
The little chocolate Mickey head on top tastes like dark chocolate.
Fantasyland
Over at Storybook Treats, you can try the Reindeer Sundae for $7.79. This is a chocolate soft-serve topped with caramel sauce, pretzels, chocolate, and peanut butter-dusted rice cereal, and a reindeer chocolate piece.

The Reindeer Sundae
First and foremost, we don’t think we’ve even had something melt faster, and that’s saying something in Orlando. This was tasty, but mostly cute! It has tons of tasty toppings, but the real winner was the pretzels. The salty-sweet element was so tasty. The cereal made this feel like a sweet breakfast item, but instead of milk, you get melted ice cream. The cereal and pretzels also added a great crunch, along with the fun, sticky caramel, which tied it all together. There was a ton of chocolate soft serve, and once the toppings were gone, this wasn’t exciting anymore. We liked it, but would like more toppings!

So melty but so tasty
Meanwhile, The Friar’s Nook is home to MULTIPLE special treats during the party! First are the Jalapeño Popper Tots for $10.49, which are topped with jalapeño cream cheese sauce, bacon, cheddar, and a jalapeño popper.

Jalapeno Popper Tots
The jalapenos on this are fresh and beautiful! They are partially seeded, but we saw a lot of seeds, which is where the heat comes from. When you eat a hot jalapeno and go for some cheese sauce to cool down, there are jalapenos in the cheese sauce! Honestly, we loved it. It’s spicy in a delicious way, not a ruin-your-day way. We wish there were a bit more regular cheese, and the cream cheese was better distributed, but we really liked this and would get it again. It was definitely big enough to share. One caveat: the actual jalapeno popper garnish wasn’t our favorite. It felt like it was frozen and had a gross, bready texture and indistinguishable flavor. We suggest putting it off to the side and digging into the tots.

A closer look!
You can also grab the Spinach Artichoke Hand Pie, which is a flaky hand pie filled with cheesy spinach and artichoke dip and drizzled with red pepper sauce for $8.99.

Spinach Artichoke Hand Pie
Don’t let looks deceive you, because we were surprised by this one! The filling was less creamy than a full spinach artichoke dip and really let both the spinach and the artichoke shine. Texturally, the two were super tender and made for a nice experience with the crispy pie. The crust was on the thin side and a bit tough, but this let it hold its crunch, despite being covered in sauce. The red pepper sauce was also so good here. It has a little bit of heat, plus it was peppery and aromatic, which really brought out the flavors in the pie.

A look inside
The Pig in a Blanket is also available, which is a Parmesan puff pastry-wrapped all-beef hot dog, crispy onions, and honey mustard barbecue sauce served with tots for $12.99.

Pig in a blanket!
If you’re looking for a picky eater-friendly dish, look no further! This truly tastes like classic pigs in a blanket. That said, we didn’t get any honey mustard barbecue sauce, and it made it feel incomplete, so make sure you get yours! It wasn’t very holiday-y or special, but it was a well-cooked, juicy hot dog. It also had a great meat-to-bread ratio. Plus, it was a very hearty portion, which is a win for the price.

A look inside!
The final Friar’s Nook party-exclusive snack is the Ugly Sweater Shake for $7.99, which is a vanilla shake topped with whipped cream, festive sprinkles, peppermint-white chocolate sauce, and a chocolate piece (Non-alcoholic).

The Ugly Sweater!
This was disappointing if we’re being frank. It’s a vanilla milkshake, yes, but it’s made from vanilla soft serve, so it has that very faux vanilla taste. It tasted like a sweeter vanilla frosty from Wendy’s (which is already pretty sweet). The sauce doesn’t add flavor at all and instead just ups the sweetness factor. The biggest redeeming quality was the whipped cream with the cherry shell. The shell was super fun and we loved it! It was almost like we were getting a dipped cone at Dairy Queen. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to redeem the shake.

The top!
Over at Pinocchio Village Haus, there are three options available, including the Holiday Ravioli for $9.29, which is fried breaded ravioli with marinara sauce, basil pesto, parmesan, and parsley.

The Holiday Ravioli
Starting off strong, this was AWESOME! For less than $10, the raviolis were huge. There is tons of pesto sauce on these, which was nice. The marinara was weirdly the best part for us; we’re assuming it was just the restaurant’s normal sauce, but we really enjoyed it. The raviolis were crispy and somehow didn’t become soggy in the sauce! The cheese on the inside was texturally similar to ricotta, so no cheese pulls here. We would happily recommend this to anyone who needs a savory dinner at the party.

Inside the ravioli
The other food item available is the Snowflake Ornament for $5.79, which is Coconut-eggnog mousse in a white chocolate shell with sugar décor.

The snowflake!
Disney World loves a mousse dessert, and while many can be good, this one just wasn’t. There was very little cake base on this one, and the only real flavor came from the bits of coconut shavings, which also added a bit of texture to the dessert. This felt more like a cheesecake than a mousse, which some people might like. It was fine, but we felt it was quickly forgettable.

The inside!
To drink, you can grab the Brr-Raspberry Slushy for $6.79, which is a Fanta Blue Raspberry slushy with coconut cream, whipped cream, and sweet blue shredded coconut (Non-alcoholic).

The slush!
This one was shockingly good! We loved how well the blue raspberry and coconut went together. This felt like a plussed-up version of a regular slushy so it’s going to give you a sweet, refreshing treat. If that sounds good to you, we recommend this one!
Frontierland
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is also home to tons of special options during the party! First up was the “Christmas-style” Chicken Tamale for $12.99 with Mild Red Chile Sauce and Pumpkin Seed Salsa Verde, Cilantro Rice, Pinto Beans, and Queso Fresco. We’re starting on a rough note, though, because these tamales had very little flavor. You do get some corn flavor with a nice texture from the wrapping, but the chicken inside was so bland. There is some creamy cheese, but it’s not going giving this much flavor.
We will say that there is a lot of chicken inside the tamale, and it’s tender and juicy, but it needs seasoning. The cilantro rice was gummy, but we did like the pumpkin seed salsa verde on top, while the mild red chile sauce adds a little heat. We will say that it’s often hard to find savory dishes at the party, and we applaud the effort, but we would have preferred something with more flavor.
Then we had the Arroz Con Leche Wreath for $5.79, which is Rice pudding mousse, citrus chutney, coconut whipped cream, and a chocolate bow.

The Arroz Con Leche Wreath
This was a really interesting dessert! It was exactly what you would expect from a rice pudding mousse. The rice was tender and a bit chewy, and it was mixed it a fluffy mousse. In the middle of the wreath, there was some citrus chutney, which added a great brightness and sweetness to the dessert. There was also some dulce de leche in the center. It was sweet and added a hint of caramel flavor. The crust on the bottom was almost like a graham cracker crust, which we think might have been like puffed rice. This is definitely a more unique dessert and great for fans of rice pudding!

Also available are the Mexican Hot Chocolate Mini Churros tossed with Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Powder, cinnamon, and warm spices served with sprinkles and marshmallow fluff dip for $6.49.

The mini churros!
These were just okay. The cocoa powder & spices on the churros weren’t as prominent as we were hoping. You could mostly taste the cocoa flavor. The churros were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but they definitely were not freshly made. The marshmallow fluff tasted just like marshmallow fluff. It was sweet and sticky. It was a bit hard to dip the churros into it as it was thicker, but we think it was a good consistency to give you that marshmallow feel in your mouth. It’s a typical Disney World churro.

The dipping sauce
To drink, you can also grab the Frozen Hot Cocoa, which is Frozen Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s with toasted marshmallow syrup topped with chocolate sauce, marshmallows, and festive sprinkles for $6.79. This is addictive. Joffrey’s hot chocolate is already a huge win, and it’s just as good frozen. The flavor is even the same. Although it is frozen, the iciness doesn’t water down that chocolate flavor. The mini marshmallows on top add a nice crunch (they’yre like those dehydrated marshmallows). The chocolate syrup just adds more beautiful chocolate flavor. This is the best way to have hot chocolate in Florida when it can be warm out.
At Golden Oak Outpost, you can pick up the Yuletide Chicken Strips for $12.99. These are Crispy chicken strips with sage butter and cranberry barbecue glaze served with sweet potato fries. These are SO much better than we expected. They were fresh and hot when we got them, so the chicken was crunchy on the outside. That buttery sage butter adds a nice flavor. It’s like chicken strips but a bit more elevated thanks to the cranberry barbecue glaze, which also adds a nice sweetness. The sweet potato fries are fine, but we’re here for the chicken strips.
Tomorrowland
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe also has a few special items available! To eat, you can grab the Snow Cheese Chicken Strips for $12.99, which are dusted with a sweet-and-savory white cheddar powder served with a side of kimchi aïoli.

Snow Cheese Chicken Strips!
These chicken tenders were surprisingly good! Think along the lines of white cheddar popcorn you get in those big popcorn tins around the holidays when it comes to these bites. The aioli is where these go crazy, though. It has a low heat at first, but as it builds, the sweet and spicy flavor kicks in. There’s also a nice garlic flavor mixed in, which we loved on our fries and chicken. The price is a little steep, but the sauce really took it to a new level.

Dipping!
You can also get the Buckle Up Mousse at Cosmic Ray’s for $6.29. This treat is made with Gingerbread Mousse, Chocolate Crémeux, and Flourless Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Décor. The gingerbread flavor is very subtle, and we appreciate that it wasn’t overpowering. You mostly get the taste of chocolate. The mousse itself is light and fluffy. There’s also some little crunchie things inside that add a great texture.
We also appreciated that the outside is a crunchy mirror glaze and not that gel that goes on a lot of desserts like this. It holds up really well, too.
To drink, the Cranberry Cider Punch made with Cranberry juice, apple cider, and Sprite with sugared cranberries and a rosemary sprig (Non-alcoholic) is also available for $5.79.

The punch!
This punch was phenomenal. This had a wonderfully fruity flavor, and the cranberries even had a bit of tartness to make it more than one note. It was essentially a cranberry sprite, but the rosemary and cranberries on top made it feel fancier. This is a tasty, low-budget option for the party!

The toppings!
Over at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, you can grab the Milk and Cookies Shake, which is a Vanilla shake with caramel, holiday cookies, and chocolate chip cookie dough topped with whipped cream and festive sprinkles (Non-alcoholic). This will cost you $9.49.

The Milk and Cookies Shake
This was good enough, we want to grab a second one before the night is out! It’s the utter definition of milk and cookies. There are sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and sprinkle cookies sprinkled across the top. While it is just vanilla, it tastes more like a buttery sugar cookie. It was a bit pricey, but we think it’s a specialty drink that feels perfect for the holidays.

The toppings
You can also get the Cherry Cordial Cold Brew, and this is actually a drink you can get during the day, too. For $6.29, you get a Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with Cherry Whipped Cream, Chocolate Sauce, and Chocolate Curls. One of our beefs with some of these cold brews, including this one, is that it’s just a normal Joffrey’s cold brew…with toppings. So if you want it to taste all the flavors, you’ll need to mix everything up before sipping. And it IS good once you get all those flavors. That cherry whipped cream is SO nice and doesn’t taste TOO artificial cherry. Also, we think Joffrey’s cold brew can be bitter.
At the new AstroFizz location, you can grab the Cherry-White Chocolate Slushy for $6.79, which is Fanta Cherry served with a crackable white chocolate-coated cup with whipped cream, cherry gummy candy, and festive sprinkles (Non-alcoholic).

The Cherry White Chocolate Slushy!
We still aren’t convinced white chocolate and cherry go together. While this treat is pretty fun to crack and see the red get exposed under the white chocolate, the flavors are not a great combination in our opinion. The cup is coated in white chocolate and then filled with Fanta cherry. The Fanta cherry is that somewhat tart, fake cherry flavor. The white chocolate coating is a bit waxy-tasting. It’s a fun treat, but we weren’t a fan of the taste. You could definitely eat the cherry icee separate from the white chocolate, or maybe you will find that you love the flavor combination! We can see some people really liking this fun drink, but it wasn’t for us.

The drink after we cracked it!
