The new bar in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort lobby has a name and an opening date: The Perch will open its counter to guests on November 10th.
The new bar is part of an extended refurbishment of the Grand Floridian’s lobby, which is getting new furniture, new carpet, and, pretty much, a whole new look. But we’ve been wanting to get an idea about that bar for a long time, and it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer.
That’s right, you will soon be able to pull a chair up to The Perch, the new bar in the Grand Floridian’s lobby. On November 10th, sip on some cocktails right in the heart of Disney World’s grandest hotel. The new lobby bar really pulls into the Grand Floridian’s Victorian vibe with beautiful woodwork, herringbone tile, and custom stained glass.
According to Disney: “You might even spot a few feathered friends that have taken flight throughout the atrium, adorning the stained glass, murals, and wallpaper.” The bar itself is inspired by the birdcage that once sat in the lobby of the hotel.
Let’s talk about the menu. It will feature champagne, wine, beer, and two signature cocktails: the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac and the Floridian 75. A non-alcoholic option will also be available: the Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea is a blend of lemon, blueberry, and basil tea.
You can guarantee we’ll be sidling up to the new bar as soon as we can, so we can get you reviews of these drinks. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more.

About time it took them long enough. Given that I still don’t understand why WDW felt the need for this bar, there are plenty of other places to drink. Whatever happened to the family friendly Disney.
Love this! The Grand is my home resort, but the lobby carpet and decor have been in need of an update for many years and have fallen in the category of stuffy old victorian. The designers did a great job. For everyone asking why there needed to be a bar, the lobby is by far the largest on Disney property with far more seating than needed and at times can seem a bit lifeless if the piano player isn’t there. This is a great new amenity. It’s not like it’s a bar to walk in but rather looks like it will have about eight stools and that’s it. The Enchanted Rose doesn’t open until 4pm and perhaps not everyone wants to go to the pool bar. I can see it being a nice spot as groups wait for other family members to arrive and it will likely be a popular spot for wedding parties.
