There are tons of places that people online will say, “You need to go here when you’re in Disney World!” Sometimes, they’re right. Sometimes… they’re not. That being said, you need to try out this spot we’re about to tell you about.

Homecomin’ new menu items!
Over in Disney Springs, you can find Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’! This table service restaurant has been an obsession of ours for literal years, thanks to its southern comfort food and Florida-inspired cuisine. The restaurant recently debuted some new menu options, so we had to test them out and see if they live up to the restaurant’s stellar reputation!
There are very few restaurants where we would say it’s nearly perfect. Homecomin’ is one of the restaurants that we would say is honestly nearly perfect. This restaurant is in the Landing section of Disney Springs. It features traditional seating as well as an open-air patio seating that’s connected to the Shine Bar and Social.

Homecomin’
We stopped by for 3 new items at the restaurant, starting with the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp. It’s tossed in their house-made hot honey and served over lightly dressed greens with a remoulade dipping sauce for $18.

The Bacon Wrapped Shrimp!
The shrimp are very, very delicious! They’re juicy and thick while not being overcooked or rubbery. They’re also easy to eat, which isn’t always the case with bacon-wrapped food. The bacon has nice crispy bits, but they aren’t overly crunchy. They wrap each piece a few times, so you get a nice amount.

The shrimp!
The hot honey added a nice sweetness with a subtle kick. The sauce on the side was very creamy and helped to cool down some of the spice. It was very enjoyable, and we think it was a decent size for a shareable option.

A look inside the shrimp!
We also tried the new Braised Beef Sandwich for $24! It was made with slow-cooked pot roast topped with roasted red peppers, melted Swiss, horseradish cream sauce, and a lightly dressed arugula salad, and served on a fresh Cuban roll.

The braised beef sandwich!
This was also delicious! We were holding our breath to see how it held up, but it wasn’t an issue! The bread was nice, soft, and super easy to grab while still holding everything in. The braised beef is soft and moist with bits of crispy edges, which we can see people really loving. The layer of cheese pulls with every bite, which worked well with the savory beef. The sauce has a slight sweetness to it, and it was perfectly creamy.

A look inside!
The cooked peppers were delightful as well! They were soft and added a sharp flavor that helped cut through the pot roast. The argula was a bit of a miss for us, but we do think the crunchy green adds a necessary textural element that we can see people enjoying. This wasn’t too big, making it the perfect lunch portion for us.

The perfect size!
On the side, we also tried the new Sweet Potato Mash for an $1 upgrade. This side dish was so tasty, it convinced us to love sweet potato mash. It was delicious! It wasn’t a puree, so it has a nice extural element to it. It wasn’t too smooth, but it also wasn’t overly chunky. The brown sugar flavor really came through, but it wasn’t overly sweet when combined with the marshmallows on top.

The Sweet Potato Hash!
The marshmallows were toasted, which added a nice subtle crunch, and it kept the dish warm overall. It tasted exactly like Thanksgiving! We will admit, the award-winning grits are still our number one favorite side dish, but this one really surprised us in the best way.

Have a bite!
We love Homecomin’ so much! The environment is fun and lively. The food blows us away every time. The Cast Members are super attentive and kind. We seriously have no notes! There are a few more new menu items in addition to the ones we tried, but these three were serious 10 out of 10s!
