Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton, who portrayed Nina Banks in the Father of the Bride movies, has passed away, according to People.
The actress won an Academy Award for her performance in Annie Hall and also portrayed Kay Adams in all three Godfather movies. She was 79 and passed away in California.
Disney fans might know Keaton as Nina Banks in Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride II for Touchstone Pictures (owned by Disney). She also starred as Elizabeth Tate in The Other Sister and Roberta Blumstein in Northern Lights. She was the director of Unsung Heroes. In addition, she voiced Jenny, Dory’s mother, in Finding Dory.
Keaton also received Oscar nominations for her roles in Something’s Gotta’ Give, Reds, and Marvin’s Room. Her most recent role was in Summer Camp, in which she starred with Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard.
Her role of Annie Hall was said to be the role that launched her into the upper ranks of actresses, winning Oscars for best picture, best director, and best original screenplay.
