If you’re an early bird planning a stay at one of Walt Disney World’s resort hotels, we have a word of warning for you.
Whether you’re looking to rope drop one of Walt Disney World’s theme parks, have to catch a bus to Port Canaveral to hop on a Disney Cruise ship, or have a super early flight out of Orlando International Airport, you might be planning to get up early and grab some breakfast and caffeine at your hotel. There’s just one BIG problem you’re not thinking about.
If you’re looking to grab breakfast early at your Disney World hotel, you might just be out of luck. We came across this VERY situation when we needed to grab food early and realized that most Disney World quick service restaurants don’t even open until 7AM, while most table service restaurants don’t open until 7:30AM. Say what?

We were also surprised to find out that places like Carousel Coffee at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn doesn’t open until 6:30AM, along with the food courts at the All-Star Resorts. That’s the earliest we saw anything open at the hotels in the mornings. We even checked to see how early hotel room service serves breakfast, and the earliest is 7AM.
If you need to eat before these times, though, you’re sort of out of luck. But that’s why we’re telling you about this — so you can plan for it. Grab something the day before — whether it be a snack or something you can keep in your hotel fridge. You can always grab things like cereal and milk and keep them in the fridge for the next morning, and then just use the coffee maker in the room if you need that little extra jolt of caffeine to get the day started (at least it’s always Joffrey’s coffee!).
You can also order Amazon Fresh Delivery for your breakfast, that way you’re guaranteed to get exactly the groceries you want, exactly when you need them.

Pro tip: If you drink cold brew, you can always order it without ice the day before you leave and just keep it in your hotel fridge until you’re ready to drink it!

When all else fails, there is actually good food at Cask and Larder at MCO near the 100 gates. If you are flying out you can just leave a bit earlier if headed to the airport, and after security take the monorail to the 100 gates where you will find a sit down eatery with good food served pretty quickly.
