We’re still thrilled we got a sequel to one of our favorite 2000s Disney films, Freaky Friday, especially since it came 22 years after the original film’s release!

The film starred Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis playing daughter and mother, who switch bodies after receiving cryptic fortunes at a Chinese restaurant. As they parade around having to pretend to be each other until they find a solution, they develop a new respect and understanding for one another. It was a classic, grossing $22 million just at opening with a $20 million budget, but since 2003, it’s grown exponentially, grossing a total of nearly $162 million present day. People rushed to the theaters to watch the sequel, Freakier Friday, and now we know when it’s coming to digital!

According to People, Freakier Friday will release on digital to rent or own starting October 7th, then on Blu-Ray and DVD on November 11th. Bonus features will also be available, which will include “deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes and a “Baby” lyric music video.”

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis returned to reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman, who are now at different stages of life. Anna is a mother to her daughter Harper (played by Julia Butters), and will soon become a stepmother to Lily (played by Sophia Hammons) as her wedding to Eric (played by Manny Jacinto) looms closer and closer. The classic body swapping ensues, causing hilarious chaos and great life lessons.

When chatting about maintaining their friendship for the two decades between the films, Curtis said that she can trust Lohan, continuing to say, “I do know that if I tell her something, it’s gonna stay with her. We’ve both been through hard things, ’cause we’re alive and life is hard. And we’re not dead yet. So the truth of our experience together, it belies all of the kind of showbizzy stuff. We connected, and we really stayed connected. And that is special and rare for me.”

Lohan shared the sentiment, saying that safety is very important to her, and that, “I have to feel safe around people. And Jamie is one of those people for me. Like, I feel very safe with you. I feel safe telling you things. So it’s— I know you said trust, but for me it’s ‘safe.'” When Freakier Friday debuted in theaters on August 8th, it earned over $150 million at the global box office against a $42 million budget.
