When you travel to Disneyland, do you fly? If so, you may realize you have several choices when it comes to airports.
The obvious option is the Los Angeles International Airport, mostly because it has a lot of flights with many airlines throughout the day. However, two other airports are actually closer, including Long Beach Airport in Long Beach and John Wayne Airport in Anaheim. Well, one of those airports, John Wayne Airport, was just named the BEST.
Every year, J.D. Power lists the best airports in the U.S. based on overall customer satisfaction, and this year, John Wayne Airport in Anaheim has taken the top spot…just like it did last year. Based on a 1,000-point scale, John Wayne Airport ranked at 730 among large airports, beating out Tampa International Airport (which is in second), as well as many other airports.
Believe me, I’ve flown into John Wayne Airport, and I totally get it. Everyone at that airport is so kind, and the customer service is top-notch. I am surprised that it’s considered a large airport, though, because it really has a small airport feel, but maybe that’s all part of its charm.
So how did the airport we frequent on the East Coast fare? Yep, we’re talking about Orlando International Airport (MCO_. Well, it’s listed in the Mega Airport category, and it came under 7th place, with Minneapolis-St. Paul taking the top spot. Guess, MCO has some work to do, huh?
The 2025 study is based on surveys from 30,439 U.S. and Canadian residents who traveled through at least one U.S. or Canadian airport. These folks were asked to evaluate their experiences at airports, and then the rankings were assigned. One interesting finding was that one of the biggest drivers of passenger satisfaction is food, drinks, and shopping. This is why we’re seeing airports beginning to increase more local restaurants in their terminals.

The Long Beach Airport is beautiful as well.
I always fly into John Wayne Airport when I visit Disneyland! It truly is the best, and worth booking flights with one stop to get there! LAX is usually a nightmare to depart from, so I avoid it.
