Zootopia has been getting a lot of love from Disney recently. Shanghai Disney Resort launched an entire land devoted to the movie in 2023. A brand new Zootopia attraction, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Disney World. PLUS Zootopia 2 will land in theaters later this year.

So what’s next? A stage musical? Well, the answer to that is “yes!” According to an audition notice on Broadway World, Disney is looking for performers for a Zootopia stage musical!
The audition notice was posted by Disney Theatrical Productions for a 90-minute Zootopia musical (we know it’s a musical because auditioners are required to bring “a brief contemporary musical theatre or pop musical theatre song”) for a professional LORT (League of Resident Theatres).
The musical will be written by Sara Wordworth with music and lyrics by Jaheem Toombs, who has written music for Zombies 4, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and Descendants. Matte Martinez will offer additional musical contributions. Connor Gallagher will direct, while Ian Weinberger will act as music supervisor.

The audition is for the following roles:
- Judy Hopps: (18-30) A bunny. Optimistic, determined, passionate. Type A and infatigable. She believes in the good in the world. Youthful pop sound with strong belt.
- Nick Wilde: (20-30) A fox. Street smart, savvy, sarcastic. His nonchalant and dispassionate exterior masks a heart of gold. Baritenor who grooves.
- Dawn Bellweather: (25-40) A mild-mannered sheep and the assistant mayor of Zootopia. Soft-spoken, meek, and overlooked, but there is more to her than meets the eye. Mezzo soprano / belter.
- Chief Bogo: (30-50) An ox and the police chief of Zootopia. Tough and set in his ways. Uninterested in changing his practices or beliefs.
