According to the Orlando Sentinel, Royal Caribbean has A LOT planned for its future! Royal Caribbean has planned new ships and destination openings as far out as 2028, and they recently shared some of their plans during a media sailing on the Star of the Seas.
Star of the Seas is the newest ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon class (Icon of the Seas was the first ship in this class). Legend of the Seas will be joining the lineup in 2026, which was previously announced by Royal Caribbean. But Royal Caribbean talked a lot about its future plans on this media sailing, and we have all the details for you!
Royal Caribbean is also working on the fourth Icon class ship, which is currently under construction. This brand-new ship will feature new activities and features, and it is expected to debut in 2027. It is possible there will also be a fifth and sixth ship in the Icon-class.
Additionally, Royal Caribbean is also expanding its Oasis class. Utopia of the Seas has been a success, with 3- and 4-night trips departing from Port Canaveral. Utopia of the Seas is the sixth ship in the Oasis class, and Royal Caribbean has already committed to the name and enchantments that will be coming with the seventh ship of this class. Royal Caribbean also confirmed that it will be developing a smaller class of ships than the Icon class. These ships will be a part of the Discovery Series.
That is not all that Royal Caribbean has planned for the future, though. The first of Royal Caribbean’s beach clubs will open this fall in Nassau. Cruisers will be able to book day passes for the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island. The beach clubs are located in high-volume ports and feature three neighborhoods for guests to enjoy. One area will be designated for families, one for partying, and one for chilling. There will be beaches, pools, swim-up bars, and beach grills. The first beach club is located in Nassau, and another location will be opening in Cozumel, Mexico in 2026 and another one in Lelepa in 2027.
Finally, Royal Caribbean is also on track to open Perfect Day Mexico in the fall of 2027. This will be a private enclave that will have double the amount of guest-facing space as Perfect Day at CocoCay currently offers guests. Perfect Day Mexico will feature the Loco Waterpark, which has 31 slides. There will be seven major neighborhoods and the world’s longest lazy river.
