Airplane schedules are changing all the time, and if you’re flying to Florida, it can be frustrating trying to keep up with all the changes.
Of course, some of those changes are good, like when more nonstop flights get added to Orlando International Airport, making getting to Disney World and Universal Orlando a lot easier. But sometimes, flights get cut, meaning you’ll have to search a little harder for a nonstop flight to your destination. Well, one budget airline, JetBlue, just cut flights to two airports, including a Florida city.
According to TheStreet.com, JetBlue has cut the twice-daily flights between Newark and Tampa starting on December 1st. So if you were planning on traveling to Tampa from Newark on or after that date, you’ll need to find another airline to take you there.
JetBlue has been reassessing many of its routes recently due to weaker travel demand and revenues that have been below expectations. This is one of several routes that have been cut, including Baltimore, Charlotte, and Bogota, Colombia. However, there’s some good news to go with the bad. The route will return in April 2026 for the spring break and summer travel season.
So what happens if you’ve already booked travel on a flight on JetBlue from airports on or after those dates? Well, although JetBlue has not officially confirmed the flight cuts, you should receive an automatic refund. If you booked in a fare class that doesn’t get the automatic refund, you’ll want to submit a claim through JetBlue’s website.
