Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially kicked off at Magic Kingdom, and we’re here on the first night taking in all the sights, sounds, frights, and, of course, all the FOOD!
We’re headed over to The Friar’s Nook to check out the exclusive eats they’re serving up during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Are they worth your time and money during this after-hours event? Let’s find out!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event. The event runs on select nights from August 15th through October 31st, 2025! If you ask us, the exclusive and limited-time eats are some of the BEST parts about this party, so we headed to The Friar’s Nook to check out what’s cooking during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
First things first, we picked up the Haunting Jalapeño Ranch Tots for $10.49. These are tots topped with black bean chili, cheddar cheese sauce, and jalapeño ranch.
These would be great on a cool, fall day in the parks, but NOT for summer! The chili on top is pretty traditional with some meat and beans and a classic chili flavor, but no spice. However, there is also a jalapeño ranch sauce that’s creamy, herby, and has just a bit of a kick. The liquid cheddar cheese sauce on top was delicious, and the tots were nice and crispy — we were impressed with how well they held up with the chili and sauces. Overall, these were tasty and a great portion of food, but we suggest waiting until it’s cooler to grab them.
We also went to grab the Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts, but they were sold out! This can happen during the party, so you’ll want to grab the highest items on your list earlier in the night. If you’re thinking of adding them to your must-try list, these are apple cider doughnuts rolled in apple cider sugar and drizzled with caramel sauce. We’ve seen these at Friar’s Nook in the past, but Disney likes to update the look every now and then! This time, they’ve got red sugar!
Additionally, Friar’s Nook also has some returning items this year, including the macabre Bowl of Bones for $13.49. This is actually Pork wings fried with jalapeños and tossed in barbecue sauce made with Cherry Coca-Cola. These have a smoky tasting meat, although the first taste you get is sweet, followed by the spiciness of the jalapeños. These make for a great snack, but the portion size is a little small for a meal. They do pack some heat, so you’ve been warned.
Friar’s Nook also has the Buffalo Chicken Hand Pie, made with Buffalo chicken and mozzarella wrapped in a flaky dough, topped with blue cheese crumbles and buffalo-ranch. We absolutely love this snack. The buffalo is nice and spicy, and the blue cheese powder is a nice accompaniment. The hand pie itself is flaky and soft, while the chicken inside is tender. Then there’s the ranch sauce that adds some tangy deliciousness.
