Hey, Disney…is everything ok?

If you’ve been trying to get onto the Disney World website today, you’ve probably run into this issue — for a LONG time! On the positive side, you’re not alone. However, today is a big day, and the site is stressing everyone out, including me.
We’re going to assume we all went on the Disney website very early this morning for one reason, and one reason only — today is the first day to make reservations for the brand new Beak and Barrel lounge in Magic Kingdom. Well, hopefully.

If you’ve been trying to make reservations, the Walt Disney World dining reservation system has BEEN down for everyone. We were up at 6 AM EST, and it’s been 3 1/2 hours — still nothing. The site decided to walk the plank shortly before The Beak and Barrel reservations were scheduled to open.

We’ve been trying to open and close it so much that we’ve been collecting broken Disney pages like they’re infinity stones.

We’ve seen chatter online that some who called the reservation number were told Beak and Barrel wasn’t in the system yet, but would be “at some point today.” The problem is, calling doesn’t help much in this situation. Disney uses the same system we do…so if it’s down for us, it’s down for them.

This is not the first time there has been a reservation issue this week! Reservations for the returning breakfast buffet experience at Chefs de France in EPCOT were scheduled to open on August 12th. We checked all day, and we were empty-handed. Then, when EPCOT Food & Wine Festival menus dropped on August 13th, the reservations finally opened up. There was no notice to fans about the delay, leaving many confused!
It’s been a wild morning, and we’re nervous it might take a while for this issue to get fixed — but fingers crossed it won’t. Keep your eyes peeled for when reservations become available so you don’t miss out on them, and we’ll keep bringing you updates. So sorry to hear it! At least there is some fun variety in the broken page messages…? We can’t wait to visit Beak and Barrel.
I was up at 4:45 (central time zone) to make reservations for my trip in October. I tried and tried, seeing the pages you included above. STRESSFUL! I called the reservation line right when they opened and learned it would be a 2 hour wait to get through. I waited…and waited…and waited while still trying to use the app, the Disney website, and individual restaurant websites. Finally, an hour and 45 minutes later, a cast member answered the phone. That’s when I learned about the Beak and Barrel issue. I wasn’t even trying to make a reservation there. But I did get what I was after- Geo-82, California Grill, Topolino’s Terrace for breakfast, and the Brown Derby. The cast member was great and so helpful. I had planned to go back to bed after securing these reservations but by the time I got them, it was time to start my day. Oh well! I am excited about my trip!
